2. What is something similar this classmate said about the choice?
Yesenia and I both agree that San Diego beaches, including Mission beach San Diego, are very popular beaches, and very much tourist destinations. People flock from all over the world to visit San Diego and swim in its warm, inviting waters. The surfing and atmosphere is so fun and inviting, everyone will want to stay.
3. What is something different this classmate said about the choice?
Yesenia mentioned that the beaches in San Diego are protected under the law as a state park, and that might answer the question I had on why the people attending the beaches could not bring animals or food into the park. I thought state parks were 0nly in the foresty areas, pertaining to a lot of wild life, i did not know that state parks also reached over beaches and the aquatic life in our beautiful country.
4. How would you relate this to Freire's ideas regarding dialogue? For example, you went in thinking one idea, your classmate had a different idea. What new idea emerged from this process?
Not understanding why dogs, food and fire were not permitted at San Diego beaches and other beaches in southern california were answered right away when i found out from Yesenia that these beaches were under state regulation as state parks, and therefor were monitered and kept on close watch by state officials and troopers. Having this protection over the land and beaches not only keeps the beaches clean, but helps to keep the environment, and our sea life thriving.
